Approximately 1-2 kg of wool can be produced from one angora goat. Siirt kilim rug production, which is the raw material for the production of Siirt kilim rugs, is made ready for production as a result of a 3-stage process. These are:
-Washing process
-Brushing process
-Spining process
As a result of the wool washing process, it is brushed in the combing machines. Since the spining process is done by hand, it requires a very laborious process. At this stage, the wool is spun by hands into yarn. The prepared yarns are given to the shuttles in hanks and made ready for weaving. Kilim rugs are produced on hand looms as a result of an intensive manual weaving process. Only 1 single blanket can be woven per stall.
