Our goal is to provide truly transparent and flexible wholesale business model so that both the sellers (artisans) and buyers are benefitted and both parties get what they deserve. We want to give artisans all over the world especially those of the developing countries a chance to lead a better life with honor and dignity which they deserve.

Our wholesale model is quite different from majority of wholesale business models online and we personally attend to the sellers (artisans), eliminating the middleman completely from the picture. We have our own offices in countries like India, Nepal, Turkey, Bangladesh and quite a few upcoming offices in various other countries. Our teams personally visit the artisans, manufacturers and traders who are at the top of the whole chain of manufacturing and buying and assess their creations and situations. The huge majority of artisans in the developing countries are amazingly skilled and their creations are truly beautiful. But they lack technical knowledge – most of them do not know how to operate a smartphone or laptop or computer, majority artisans are poor and their social situation is very deplorable. They have to work very hard to fulfill the minimum necessities. All these force them to look away from online shopping sites and sell their creations to traders and middlemen directly who buy from them with the least amount possible and sell these items at the highest amount possible. And because the artisans do not check online shopping sites they are not even aware that they are being cheated. This unethical profit is then divided between the middlemen and the selling platforms. We try to make the artisans aware of this situation and our teams personally look into all technical matters on their behalf so that they can sell their products themselves and lead better lives.

In case of wholesale buyers and retailers, our platform offers discount in a completely new way. Suppose a retail jewellery shop owner wants to buy items in small quantities for his shop. Till now what he has mostly done is to either buy huge quantities which he does not need only so that he can get the bulk discount or he bought the exact amount needed say 30-40 pieces and paid for them in retail. Both ways the retailer gets a bad deal.

Here, in Its Handicraft the retailer can buy the exact number of items required and can complete the original number of items needed for bulk discount by buying other items from the same seller. Thus, he can enjoy the whole discount without having to buy more than what is needed.

How Made to Order works?

'Made to Order' is a very special feature of our wholesale business. Through this the buyer can order as much amount of an item as he needs even if the seller does not have the whole amount listed at present. The buyer and seller both can negotiate an acceptable time frame which would allow the seller to get hold of the materials and create the extra items and ship them to the buyer.

What is Make an Offer?

‘Make an offer’ is a feature unique to the wholesale model of itshandicraft. Sometimes a retailer really loves a product but cannot make the purchase because the price may be high for his customer base. ‘Make an offer’ helps the retailer to propose a more reasonable rate to the artisan so that he can buy the product. If the proposed rate is too low the artisan reserves the right to decline the offer. It is not binding on the artisan to accept the offer.

Counter Offer: If the price suggested by you seems too low for the wholesaler, he can propose a different solution. Suppose the wholesaler proposes no cut in the original price but free shipping. If it does not appeal to you, you can propose another offer like a little hike in the price from your original bid and a small percentage for shipping. Now if both parties agree the deal can be reached.
